ICT Cluster Services

The ICT Cluster Services Sector of Chhukha Dzongkhag Administration aims to deliver effective and efficient ICT services by enhancing digital skills, promoting the use of Google Apps, and supporting innovation in public service delivery. The Sector provides technical support, including basic troubleshooting and networking training, and ensures compliance with e-GIF standards while addressing connectivity issues at the community level.

Mandate of ICT is as given below

  1. Frame ICT Acceptable Usage Policy.
  2. Facilitate ICT Services to Dzongkhag, Gewogs, Regional Offices and Community Centers
  3. Extend network to the Gewogs.
  4. Support development of reliable ICT infrastructure in the Dzongkhag,
  5. Improve digital literacy in the society.
  6. Develop sustainable and affordable ICT facilities and services for all Bhutanese to improve their living standard.

Background

Every Dzongkhag has ICT unit providing cross sectoral ICT services. Chhukha Dzongkhag ICT unit has currently two staffs, one ICT officer and one ICT Associate. ICT unit looks after the network and other ICT related work for all gewogs, schools, BHUs and nearby regional government offices. Chhukha is challenging with difficult geographical terrain and most gewogs are located far from the Dzongkhag Administration. Moreover, some schools and BHUs are very far from gewog centers leading to difficulty in connectivity coverage.
