A consultative meeting on Tourism Flagship Program was conducted by a four-membered team of Tourism Council of Bhutan led by Chief Tourism Officer at Chhukha Dzongkhag Conference Hall on 11th Sept. 2018. The meeting was attended by all Sector Heads, Gups, GAOs and representative from Gedu Forestry Division. Dasho Dzongdag chaired the meeting.
After a detailed deliberation on the various potential tourism products, the Dzongkhag prioritized and finalized the following tourism products to be incorporated in the flagship program
- Recreational parks and roadside amenities along Thimphu-Phuentsholing Highway.
- Development of Dagala-Tshamdra and Dagala-Paga Trails.
- Rafting from Lingden-Amochu Bridge.
- Cycling route from Damsite-Chanachen-Gedu via Shawgayla Lake.
“If approved and implemented successfully, the products will have immense benefit not only to the tourists (both regional and international) but also to the public of Chhukha and the commuters along Thimphu-Phuentsholing Highway”, said Dasho Dzongdag.
