Coinciding with the World Malaria Day at Phuntsholing MSS, The WHO Country Representative awarded Malaria Free Certification Certificate to Phuntsholing Drungkhag, Chhukha Dzongkhag. The certificate was received by Dasho Dzongda in presence of the Hon'ble Secretary of the Ministry of Health and other dignitaries. The free certification was awarded since not a single case of Indigenous Malaria case were recorded/ reported for the last three years. Chhukha Dzongkhag also managed to keep the number of incidence of malaria to below 10 cases since 2011. Three gewogs under Chhukha Dzongkhag namely Darla, Samphelling and Phuntsholing gewogs fall under malaria endemic area which has 3270 households and roughly 20,000 population. The Malaria Free Certification is a great recognition and the Health sector shall strive to achieve zero Malaria case under Chhukha Dzongkhag.
